IPP3A Health Information Privacy Code changes 01 May 2026 - for practices

From 1 May 2026, the updated Health Information Privacy Code 2020 (IPP3A) requires general practices to inform people when their personal information is collected indirectly. This document contains templates adapted from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner’s Getting Ready for IPP3A video (April 2026), presented by Steph Gregor, Manager Capability and Guidance. Practices that have not yet received regional guidance may copy and paste the templates into their privacy statements, policies, and enrolment forms, and tailor them to suit their local context.
